The cafe was more empty than I expected in the early afternoon.
私は窓際の席に座り、冷たいコーヒーを注文した。
I sat by the window and ordered an iced coffee.
隣の席では、女の人が手紙を書いていた。
At the next table, a woman was writing a letter.
彼女は何度もペンを止め、窓の外を見た。
She stopped her pen many times and looked out the window.
帰るとき、彼女は私に小さく会釈した。
When she left, she gave me a small nod.
私は理由もなく、少しだけ背筋を伸ばした。
For no reason, I sat up a little straighter.
窓の外では、夏の雲がゆっくり流れていた。
Outside the window, summer clouds were moving slowly.
