朝七時のパン屋には、焼きたての匂いが広がっていた。
At seven in the morning, the bakery was full of the smell of fresh bread.
私はトングを持ったまま、どのパンにするか迷っていた。
I held the tongs and wondered which bread to choose.
店の奥から、店員が新しいクロワッサンを運んできた。
A clerk brought new croissants from the back of the shop.
「今出たばかりですよ」
"They just came out of the oven."
私は思わず一つ取り、トレーにのせた。
I took one without thinking and put it on my tray.
店を出ると、袋の中のパンはまだ少し温かかった。
When I left the shop, the bread in the bag was still a little warm.
駅までの道が、いつもより短く感じた。
The road to the station felt shorter than usual.
