There were still a few customers in the bookstore ten minutes before closing.

I stood in front of the paperback shelf. I was not sure if I should buy a book.

I wanted to read the book, but I didn't think I had time to read it.

A clerk walked by and said in a quiet voice.

"If you read that book to the end, it will make you feel a little better."

I smiled without thinking and took the book to the register.

When I went outside, the store shutter was slowly closing.

私は文庫本の棚の前で、買うかどうかを迷っていた。

その本は前から気になっていたが、読む時間があるとは思えなかった。

店員が近くを通り、小さな声で言った。

「その本、最後まで読むと少しだけ元気になりますよ」

私は思わず笑って、その本をレジに持っていった。

外に出ると、店のシャッターがゆっくりと下り始めていた。
